Bull Creek is a little thing that used to run along the train tracks near our house growing up. We used to look for frogs, catfish and garfish along that run when it would floor in the summer months. Good story huh?
Battle of Mine Creek was the largest cavalry battle in the state of Kansas during the Civil War. Just a few miles away from our house growing up. John Browns birth place, Osawatomie, Kansas was also just down the road from us. The dirt road we lived on was called Lookout Road because there is a hill along this road that is the highest point in the county that was used by John's militia at one point in time during Kansas's struggle to remain a free state.
